Cocktails with Ginger Syrup
Ginger syrup is a cocktail sweetener made by simmering fresh ginger with sugar and water. It features ginger's distinctive sharp, spicy aroma and warm heat, adding depth of flavor and a stimulating kick to cocktails.

Ginger syrup pairs fantastically with whiskey-based cocktails. When ginger's spiciness meets whiskey's warm flavors, it creates complex and deeply layered tastes. Notable ginger syrup cocktails include the Penicillin, Kentucky Mule, and Ginger Sour.

To make it, thinly slice or grate fresh ginger and simmer with equal parts sugar and water over low heat for 20-30 minutes, then strain. For a stronger ginger flavor, increase the ginger amount or adjust cooking time. Finished ginger syrup can be refrigerated for 2-3 weeks.

Ginger has traditionally been valued for aiding digestion and warming the body, making cocktails with ginger syrup particularly popular in cold weather. When combined with honey syrup, it achieves a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness.
