ABV Technique Glass 용량
13.0% BLEND HURRICANE 200ml

What is Bushwacker?

The Bushwacker hails from the US Virgin Islands in the 1970s, a tropical dessert cocktail blending Baileys's cream notes, Kahlua's coffee depth, dark rum's weight, and the silkiness of coconut cream into a rich mocha-coconut slushy.

Bushwacker ABV

A moderate 13% ABV. The cream and ice make it smooth, but the dark rum gives it slightly more body than a Mudslide.

Bushwacker Ingredients

Baileys
Coffee Liqueur
Dark Rum
Heavy cream
Coconut Cream

Bushwacker Recipe

  1. Add 30ml each of Baileys, Kahlua, and dark rum to a blender.
  2. Add 30ml of fresh cream and 30ml of coconut cream.
  3. Add about 1 cup of ice and blend for 30 seconds until smooth and slushy.
  4. Pour into a chilled hurricane glass. Optionally, top with whipped cream and a light dusting of nutmeg.

No coconut cream? Coconut milk works as a substitute. For more tropical body, slightly increase the dark rum.

Bushwacker Taste

Rich mocha meets coconut. Kahlua's bittersweet coffee, dark rum's caramel and spice, and the smooth Baileys come together with coconut cream for a flavor like a dessert shake.

Bushwacker History

Believed to have originated at the Sapphire Pub on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands in the 1970s, the Bushwacker became a summer classic across the Florida Gulf Coast and southern US beach towns.
